COVID-19 guidelines updated for event capacity

The University of Rhode Island has updated its COVID-19 health and safety guidelines and requirements for campus events effective Friday, May 28, 2021, based on the latest guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Beginning this Friday, the maximum size of campus events will increase to 100% of the venue’s normal capacity and 3-foot physical distancing is no longer required for vaccinated individuals. Normal capacity refers to the venue’s occupancy as assigned by the Rhode Island State Fire Marshal, if available, or otherwise the typical capacity of the room/venue prior to the pandemic. Event organizers should note that current procedures for registering and approving events through the URI COVID-19 Task Force remain in effect until further notice.

Read guidelines and requirements for all URI campus events.
