The Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s (ABM) program offers several advantages, particularly for students looking to streamline their education and enter the workforce or pursue further research with advanced qualifications.

Time and Cost Efficiency: The ABM program allows students to complete both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in a reduced time frame, typically five years. This accelerated pathway can save a year or more compared to pursuing the degrees separately, reducing overall tuition costs and allowing students to enter the workforce sooner.

Credit Overlap: The program is designed to allow some of the Master’s degree credits to be fulfilled by undergraduate courses. Additionally, students can transfer credits from advanced standing courses that were not counted towards their Bachelor’s degree, maximizing their previous academic efforts.

Early Research Opportunities: Students in the ABM program are encouraged to get involved in research early, which can enhance their learning experience, better prepare them for their Master’s thesis (if choosing the thesis option), and strengthen their resumes for future employment or doctoral studies.

Streamlined Admission: The program typically offers a streamlined admission process for our undergraduates, reducing the uncertainty and administrative burden associated with applying to a separate graduate program.

Enhanced Job Prospects: Completing a Master’s degree, particularly in fields like engineering, can significantly enhance job prospects, potential earnings, and career advancement opportunities. It provides deeper technical knowledge and specialized skills that are highly valued in the industry.

Graduate Funding Opportunities: Students in the ABM program may have access to graduate assistantships and other funding opportunities earlier, providing financial support and practical experience through teaching or research assistant roles.

This program is particularly beneficial for students who are clear about their educational and career goals and are ready to commit to an intensive academic schedule that blends undergraduate and graduate requirements.
