The Office of Emergency Management has rolled out its Emergency Protective Action training to students, faculty, and staff.  This short introductory course defines the terminology that will be used during an emergency such as: Lock-Down, Shelter-in-Place, and Evacuation.  It is important to remember that the safety and security of the University of Rhode Island is not only the responsibility of the Department of Public Safety but of everyone within our community.  By learning these definitions and the steps to take during an emergency you will be better prepared to deal with any emergency.
