The Office of Emergency Management offers Until Help Arrives training to students, faculty, and staff.  This short introductory course defines emergency terminology such as: Lock-Down, Shelter-in-Place, and Evacuation and teaches how to be an active rather than passive bystander in the event of an emergency.  It is important to remember that the safety and security of the University of Rhode Island is not only the responsibility of the Department of Public Safety but of everyone within our community.  By learning these steps, you will be better prepared to deal with any emergency.
