A Free, Hands-On Experience for High School Students During School Break
Break into Engineering is an immersive, multi-day program for high school students who are curious about the world of engineering. Hosted by the University of Rhode Island College of Engineering, this unique experience offers a firsthand look at life inside a cutting-edge research environment.
Real Labs. Real Projects. Real Engineering.
Held during April school break, selected students are matched with URI engineering research labs, where they work alongside faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates on real projects. From robotics and biomedical devices to clean energy systems and ocean technology, participants gain exposure to college-level problem-solving and the thrill of discovery.
