
Ryan Light is a proud University of Rhode Island alumnus and licensed Professional Engineer with more than a decade of experience in manufacturing, automation, and controls engineering. Currently Lifecycle/Sustaining Engineering Manager at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, he leads the integration of advanced metrology and sensor technologies into aerospace, automotive, and medical manufacturing. Ryan’s career spans leadership roles at Modine Manufacturing, Hayward Holdings, and his own entrepreneurial venture, Lighthouse Engineering, with achievements including managing large-scale automation projects, deploying collaborative robotics, and implementing cost-saving initiatives totaling millions of dollars annually.
As a leader at Hexagon, Ryan has had the privilege of mentoring and working alongside several talented IEP graduates, both as direct reports and colleagues, which has deepened his appreciation for the program’s ability to produce well-rounded, globally minded engineers. He brings to the IEP Advisory Board both deep technical expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset, along with a strong commitment to advancing innovation and excellence in engineering.
