Location, Transportation and Parking

You have to admit, we’re in a great spot. We’re minutes from the beach, 30 miles south of Providence, 75 miles from Boston, 160 miles from NYC, with Newport just across the bay!

Getting to the Hampton Inn/URI Kingston Campus
Our general recommendation for guests planning to either take a train or fly in is to rent a car during their stay in Rhode Island.

For those traveling by air, T.F. Green Airport (PVD) is the closest airport. From the airport, you can also take a taxi or an Uber/Lyft or alternatively the MBTA to Wickford Junction, then Uber/Lyft from there. If you arrive on Thursday/Friday and plan to directly to the URI Kingston campus, you can take the RIPTA bus line 66.

If you will be taking a train in, the Kingston Amtrak Station is right down the road from campus. Use Uber/Lyft from there to reach the Hampton Inn/URI Kingston Campus. If you will take the MBTA directly to Rhode Island, plan to stop at Wickford Junction, then take an Uber from there to the hotel/our campus.

Note: Both URI’s Kingston Campus and T.F. Green Airport are on RIPTA bus line 66. However, the Hampton Inn is NOT a direct stop on that line – along with the bus ride, an Uber/Lyft to/from campus would be required to reach the hotel.

Parking/Carpooling
When registering, please let us know if you plan to bring a car to campus. More information on how to sign up for parking on campus, where best to park, and possible carpooling arrangements will be made available at a later date.
