Nicola Massarotti is a full professor of fluid and thermal science at the Engineering Department of the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Parthenope”. Dr. Massarotti received his PhD from Swansea University (UK) in 2001 and his research interests include heat transfer, computational fluid mechanics, energy conversion systems and circular economy. He is the founder and director of the Laboratory for Thermo-fluid Dynamics, Energy, and HVAC Systems (LaTEC) at the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Parthenope”.
Since 2016 Dr. Massarotti has coordinated the PhD program in energy science and engineering, and he is the current chair of the management engineering programs of the Engineering Department. Since 2013 he has served as director of CRAVEB, an Italian consortium of public universities and private companies that develops research and technology transfer on environment, vehicles, energy, and biofuels. In 2019 he started an innovative start-up company that develops novel energy systems for reduction of environmental impact due to conversion, distribution and use of energy.
Dr. Massarotti is the founder and co-chair of The International Conference on Computational Methods for Thermal Problems (ThermaComp). Over the last three years he has coordinated R&D projects for a total budget of above 7 M€.
