Angus Taylor is the retired president and chief executive officer of Hexagon Metrology North America, based in Quonset Point, North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Hexagon Metrology designs and manufactures three-dimensional measuring systems from two manufacturing facilities in RI and California. Distributing products from eleven precision centers across North America, Hexagon serves multiple industries including automotive, medical devices and aerospace. Angus earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK. In 1987 Angus joined a subsidiary of the Brown & Sharpe manufacturing company (now Hexagon Metrology) as a project engineer. Over the past 20 years, Angus has successfully grown his career within the company with increased levels of responsibility from technical to commercial disciplines and on to international business roles prior to becoming president and CEO in 2008. In 2015, he received an honorary doctorate from URI. Angus and his family reside in East Greenwich, RI.
