IEP alumni share some of their recent highlights and accomplishments.

Several IEP students received prestigious awards this year, including one David L. Boren Award, a Fulbright Scholarship, a Barry Goldwater Scholarship, and a total of nine Beatrice S. Demers Fellowships.

An interdisciplinary team at URI secured a NEH Humanities Connections Grant of over $149 thousand to provide a foundational liberal arts experience to a broader range of undergraduate engineering students, while also increasing the impact of the IEP curriculum.

The International Engineering Program and URI’s College of Engineering joined forces this summer for a European tour intended to formalize and expand collaboration agreements with our partner universities and companies abroad.

These students will spend the 2023-24 academic year abroad studying and interning for their respective signature programs.

Brandon Yeh is a fourth year student in the Chinese IEP from Gaithersburg, Maryland and is majoring in Chinese and electrical engineering.

Aidan Kindopp, a fourth-year French IEP and chemical engineering student from West Chesterfield, New Hampshire, recently won a prestigious Goldwater scholarship along with two other URI peers.

URI’s IEP hosted the 25th Annual Colloquium on International Engineering Education in Fall 2022, inviting academics, researchers and industry partners from all over the country and the world to discuss important issues within this field.
