The U.S.-French relationship has long been positif, since Lafayette visited Rhode Island, and the French government sent a statue across the sea to recognize shared connections. IEP alumni share some of their recent highlights and accomplishments.

Several IEP students received prestigious awards this year, including one David L. Boren Award, a Fulbright Scholarship, a Barry Goldwater Scholarship, and a total of nine Beatrice S. Demers Fellowships.

An interdisciplinary team at URI secured a NEH Humanities Connections Grant of over $149 thousand to provide a foundational liberal arts experience to a broader range of undergraduate engineering students, while also increasing the impact of the IEP curriculum.

The International Engineering Program and URI’s College of Engineering joined forces this summer for a European tour intended to formalize and expand collaboration agreements with our partner universities and companies abroad.

These students will spend the 2023-24 academic year abroad studying and interning for their respective signature programs.
