Outreach Activities
URI SWE go to K-12 schools, community centers, and Girl Scout conferences to inspire students to pursue engineering. The URI chapter hosts the “Physics is Phun!” workshop in the fall, mentors middle schoolers and ninth graders through the Little SWEsters club and on Women In Engineering Day, high school juniors, and seniors accepted to URI spend a day with engineering faculty and students.

Professional Events
SWE members organize and attend campus workshops on networking, resume building, salary negotiation, interview skills and much more. The chapter also visits engineering firms to learn about different career paths from industry professionals.

Conferences
The URI SWE chapter attends a regional conference and national conference. Each conference features workshops, career fairs and plenty of networking opportunities.

Social Events
Events such as a rope challenge course, apple picking, ice skating, group trips, and potluck dinners enable the members to have fun and get to know each other better.

Umbrella Organization
The Society of Women Engineers is a powerful, global force uniting 50,000 members of all genders spanning 85 countries. We are the world’s largest advocate and catalyst for change in engineering and technology. SWE membership and events are open to all.
