“How can we take the waste out of wastewater?”
That’s the question University of Rhode Island Professor Vinka Oyanedel-Craver posed in a TEDxURI talk.
Oyanedel-Craver is the Associate Dean of Research for the College of Engineering and a professor of environmental engineering.
In her TEDx presentation, titled “(Un)wasting Wastewater,” she challenges the audience to think of wastewater much differently.
“We need to change our views of wastewater and increase our effort to take advantage of its hidden potential,” said Oyanedel-Craver. “We can transform this undesirable residue into a promising resource.”
The video of Oyanedel-Craver’s talk is a little over six minutes.
