URI alumna Danielle Goudreau has been named president of the Providence Engineering Society. Founded in 1894, the Providence Engineering Society is the oldest professional engineering society in the United States.
Goudreau earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering through URI’s five-year accelerated engineering program.
While a graduate student, Goudreau was recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers for her research paper on “Investigation of Combined Storm Surge Inundation and Sea Level Rise to the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier.’’
Goudreau is a project manager for Collins Engineering in East Greenwich. She previously worked as an engineer for Pare Corporation for five years.
In 2021, Goudreau was a guest on The Civil Engineering Podcast. She spoke about how she found a niche to specialize in and what she is doing to build her expertise in the niche. She also talked about her experience as a woman in civil engineering.
