If a waiver of the search process is requested, the originator must put the request in writing.  In addition to the written request, the official URI job description (w/ Diego Jones’ initials and date developed), resume, and supporting documentation must be submitted.    An example of supporting documentation would be if the person was named as a Co-PI in the grant, in which case a copy of the grant budget pages showing proof of the person’s name as PI or Co-PI and salary need to be submitted.

• We review resumes submitted and compare to the job description’s required qualifications, only if

the person has all required qualifications can they be placed in the position.  In which case our office

provides a written response to the originator identifying the person, position and length of time.

Note: It is possible a person may not have all of the required qualifications, in which case they may be capable of doing some of the work and receive a supplemental salary – to be determined by HR, typically Laura Kenerson.
