The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by offering awards to U.S. undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. Awarded for graduate study at the University of Oxford, on the basis of the candidate’s scholarly achievements, character, commitment to others and to the common good, and for potential for leadership in whatever domains their careers may lead. Summer Liu Xiaobo Fellowships

The Congressional-Executive Commission on China is offering paid Fellowships to those with Bachelor’s degrees. Fellows are paid $18/hour. Fellows must be US citizens. Fellows should have completed at least some China-related coursework. U.S. Congress – Republic of Korea National Assembly Exchange Program

The US Congress–Republic of Korea National Assembly Exchange Program is a fully-funded initiative to broaden the perspectives of Korean and American young people on the legislative process; the history of US-Korea relations; and current economic, political, and security aspects of the bilateral relationship. The program also provides participants with firsthand experience of each other’s people and culture, creating opportunities to form long-lasting personal contacts.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET)

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is administered through the collaboration of Japan’s local government authorities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).
