Biography

Carol joined the University in August 2021 with over ten years of public and private sector experience in litigation and international trade compliance (ITC). She is primarily responsible for legal and compliance support to the University’s Office of Sponsored Projects and Office of Research Integrity. She also supports many University initiatives, including national security and global affairs.   

Carol serves as the University’s Export Control Officer and ITAR Empowered Official. She is a member of the University’s Insider Threat Committee and is an Ex-Officio Member of the University’s Conflict of Interest Management Committee.

Prior to joining the University, Carol served five years as the Director of ITC for the University of Connecticut and over three years as Assistant Counsel for ITC at Pratt and Whitney.

Carol holds a Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she also served for several years as a part-time adjunct lecturer. She is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and as In-House Counsel in the State of Rhode Island. Carol and her husband have two teenage boys and a rescue lab. She enjoys spending time together as a family visiting the beautiful beaches of Rhode Island.
