Biography

Leah joined the University as Associate General Counsel in January 2024, bringing over ten years of law practice experience from both a local, mid-sized law firm and a large, global corporate in-house legal department. Leah is licensed to practice law in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  On behalf of the University, Leah primarily supports Purchasing, Information Technology, Athletics and Healthcare-related matters, and provides secondary support in other areas, as well as miscellaneous Contracts review, as-needed.

Prior to joining the University, Leah worked seven years as Associate Counsel at Cameron & Mittleman LLP in Providence, where her primary practice focused on civil and business litigation, and other practice areas such as healthcare, employment, general corporate law, contracts, and business transactions. Thereafter, Leah worked four years as Senior Legal Counsel at Schneider Electric, where her practice focused on legal support for procurement of various goods and services, including capital equipment, information technology, marketing, and various professional services, and legal support for construction projects and subcontracting, human resources, cybersecurity, export control, and commercial dispute resolution.

Leah obtained her Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island, and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont.

Leah and her family live in South County, Rhode Island, and enjoy boating and fishing and attending various professional and college sports games together.
