Biography

Mackenzie joined the University as an Associate General Counsel in January 2024.  On behalf of the University, Mackenzie’s legal practice primarily focuses on real estate, construction, environmental, and maritime matters, intellectual property and naming rights, and academic affairs.  Mackenzie is licensed to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Prior to joining the University, Mackenzie was in-house at a Fortune Global 500 company, where she primarily negotiated construction contracts, energy savings performance contracts, and various other commercial contracts.  Before going in-house, Mackenzie spent several years practicing as a corporate associate in an Am Law 100 law firm and as an attorney in a boutique corporate law firm, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions.

Mackenzie received her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law.  She received her Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from Northeastern University, with a major in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Philosophy.

Mackenzie enjoys living in South County with her husband and their beloved rescue dog.
