URI’s International Community

The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) is available to assist URI’s international community with any questions or concerns regarding international travel, immigration and visa compliance, and other international questions or concerns. The OISS team holds weekly walk-in hours to offer community support.

International Research, Travel, and Study Abroad Programs

All University of Rhode Island community members traveling for University business, research or academic activities receive international travel insurance coverage from Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI).

For sickness and accident-related incidents while traveling, call CISI Team Assist: +1 302-935-1703

Call CISI as soon as possible in an emergency situation abroad. They can assist with arranging medical transportation and care, monitoring your condition following a medical issue, initiating a medical or security evacuation if appropriate, and provide advice relating to your health, safety, security, lost documents, or need for legal assistance.
