The URI International Education Week Planning Committee invites degree-granting colleges, departments, centers, and student organizations to submit existing or new events that celebrate international education and nurture diversity and inclusion.

This year IEW will take place November 14-18, 2022, and be structured around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Higher education has many natural intersections with the seventeen SDGs and plays a significant role in accomplishing them by 2030. Share existing or new events and efforts to promote global education further and attain the SDGs over the next eight years.

Key questions to consider include:
• Are there ways your college, department or office expands awareness of and interest in global learning opportunities?
• What ways do you celebrate the diversity of the URI community and nurture global citizenry?
• How is your college, department, or office currently engaged with UN SDGs?
• Is there a specific SDG with which your department or organization has become involved?
• Are there any challenges or contradictions between international education and SDGs?

The IEW Planning Committee serves as a backbone of support and resource to all participating groups, specifically in the guidance and promotion of IEW events.

Please complete the IEW Events Submission form to submit an existing or new event by September 26. We will promote it on our IEW calendar and throughout campus.

A limited amount of grants of up to $500 are available to eligible URI faculty, staff, and student organizations who organize an event for International Education Week 2022 (Nov. 14-18). The deadline for grant request submissions is September 26, 2022. Please complete this form.
