As an international student, study abroad participant, or a student interested in international education, you are invited to apply for the Global Peer Ambassador Program administered by the URI International Center.

This program features three exciting roles, each designed to match different skills and interests:
Global Greeter– Be the first friendly face new international students see as they begin their journey at URI! As a Global Greeter, you’ll provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere and support to help them settle into their new environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Offer advice, share personal experiences, and answer questions during our Virtual Pre-Arrival Information sessions (Spring/Summer 2025).
- Help ease cultural and geographical transitions during Welcome Week (August 27 – September 2, 2025).
- Cultivate an atmosphere of inclusivity and trust where students feel at home.
Event Facilitator -Assist in organizing and leading exciting and impactful activities that celebrate diversity and champion cultural exchange.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate social events and cultural workshops, handling logistics and ensuring everyone can participate.
- Support events and initiatives that highlight study-away opportunities.
- Inspire collaboration and build strong connections among participants.
Communications Specialist -Help keep our vibrant international community connected and engaged through dynamic, effective communication.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage communications: Keep participants informed and excited using group texts and WhatsApp platforms.
- Create engaging content: Showcase achievements, share news, and encourage active participation within the community.
- Strengthen global connections: Help build a bridge between cultures and encourage meaningful connections.
Each role in the Global Peer Ambassador Program plays a unique part in creating a welcoming and enriching experience for everyone! Whether it’s giving a warm welcome, organizing awesome events, or keeping communication clear, together we build a strong community that promotes global understanding and collaboration.
