Sean Carroll visited us this week delivering several talks and engaging with the URI community widely. Carroll gave a Physics Department seminar, a public talk and help many discussions with faculty, students, and other community members. He stayed at the President’s house as a special university guest.

Carroll spent 2 hours with the U²GRC yesterday answering a wide variety of questions primarily by our students. The questions ranged from technical details about the mathematical nature of singularities, to the big open question of “free will” and consciousness .. and everything in between!

We thank the URI Physics Department for arranging and organizing Carroll’s visit and look forward to similar future events.
