Biography
Dr. Reyes’ teaching and research represent critical, socio-cultural approaches to media including audio recording, popular music, and video games. His work aims to deconstruct the reciprocal determination of technology, culture, and society in order to better understand and critique everyday experiences with entertainment media.
He is keenly interested in the digital turn and the challenges posed to extant communication studies by new ways of producing, distributing, and consuming media content. Recent research projects addressed the aesthetics of heavy metal recording, temporal and visual aspects of mobile technologies, and the rhetoric of conspiracy theories.
Dr. Reyes is an Avid Certified Pro Tools Instructor.
