Biography
Doug Rubinstein is Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Douglas & Associates™, LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, marketing leadership as well as senior level executive coaching. Doug is also Managing Partner/CEO of Innoverse Labs™ a cloud-based software and mobile app firm focused on the hospitality industry. Prior to Innoverse Labs, he was the Managing Partner and co-founder of Vroomedia™, one of the first internet streaming video companies in the U.S.
Prior to Vroomedia™Doug was President/CEO of USI Consulting Group (USICG), a $150 million dollar subsidiary of USI (NASDAQ:USIH) focused on financial services for large national brands. The firm was ranked as the ninth largest of its kind in the U.S. when he retired.
Doug’s initial appointment with USI was in 1990 as the Chief Marketing Officer for USICG, and then later as President/CEO. During his tenure as CEO, he led the Firm to five straight years of Pinnacle Awards given to the annual top division of USI – a record that remains unbeaten today. He also grew USICG from a $15 million to a $150 million business over the same period. Doug was also one of the eight members of USI’s Executive Board who originated and launched the company’s IPO.
Prior to joining USI Doug was the Managing Partner for sixteen years of The Douglas Group™, Inc., a nationally recognized marketing firm specializing in marketing communications, branding and positioning development for health care systems, universities, financial services, hospitality, retail, manufacturing and technology entities. Throughout his tenure he won over 250 regional and national awards for marketing leadership.
During his career he has also served as Senior Vice President for Marketing for Mount Sinai Hospital, Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Wilkes University, and Assistant Dean of Arts & Sciences for the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego. He also was the Head Football Coach at SUNY Oswego where in 1973 he guided the team to a National Championship.
He serves and has served on numerous non-profit Boards including currently President of Animal Rescue Rhode Island, Executive Advisory Board of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island, Vice President of the Board of Directors for Prevent Blindness America, The University of Hartford Advisory Board, The University of Connecticut Business Advisory Council and Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation to name a few.
Doug earned his B.A. in Communication Studies and English from the University of Rhode Island and was the University’s first Communication Studies graduate. He also earned his M.S. in Communications from SUNY Oswego. He is married with one daughter and resides in Charlestown, RI with his wife Linda.
