Gail Lowney Alofsin

Biography

Gail has been teaching at URI since January, 1999. The courses she taught were JOR 340 and JOR 440. As a PR and marketing professional, she developed the initial curriculum for PRS 340 and PRS 440. She also led the URI Colloquium on Hunger. She currently leads the January J-term – Career Rhode Trip to New York City and the Summer Session Career Trip to Boston. In Fall 2017, she taught COM 351.

Gail has been employed by Newport Harbor Corporation for 30 years. Her current position is Director of Corporate Partnership and Community Relations. She is also and author and speaker. Her book – Your Someday is Now – What are YOU Waiting for has raised over $38,000 for non-profit organizations since being published in April 2014. Passionate about assisting non-profits with a focus on hunger and education, she has been volunteering for the Haitian Health Foundation since her sophomore year at Tufts.
