Biography
Jaya Sarkar is an international development professional who has lived and worked in India, Latin America and West Africa. Communication has been critical to her roles across cultures and working with communities, governments and other actors to promote the rights of indigenous people, children and youth, disabled people and other marginalized groups.
Jaya will complete a Global Education Doctorate in Education from the School for International Training (SIT) in Brattleboro, Vermont in June 2024. The doctorate focus is on foundational theories, rigorous research and links between theory and praxis. SIT has a long history of experiential learning to build community and intercultural understanding at home and abroad. Champions of social inclusion and justice, SIT is committed to human and environmental well-being.
