Biography

John Brickley is a sports broadcaster, producer, and educator with more than 15 years of experience across national, international, and local media. 

Brickley is an experienced play-by-play announcer and national television producer. He has called a wide range of sports for ESPN, including WNBA basketball, college football, men’s and women’s basketball and lacrosse, the Little League World Series, baseball, softball, and boxing. He currently produces national broadcasts of WNBA games, bringing his experience on both sides of the production process into the classroom. His ESPN career included hosting Baseball Tonight, SportsCenter, College Basketball Live, and other national and international programs, as well as serving as an ESPN Radio anchor and studio host.

Before joining ESPN, Brickley worked as a weekend sports anchor at WFSB Channel 3 in Connecticut, where he reported, wrote, produced, edited, and anchored local and regional sports coverage. He also hosted Sports Sunday and Friday Night Football, providing coverage of major Connecticut sporting events and high school athletics.

John and his wife, Jen, have two daughters, Violet and Lily. John is a passionate Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
