Pamela McCauley

Dr. Pamela McCauley is an internationally recognized Industrial Engineering researcher in the development of mathematical models, human engineering, and engineering leadership. She is an award-winning educator, often described as an “outstanding” and “enthusiastic” professor, on a mission to empower students and professionals to successfully pursue STEM educational, career, and innovation goals.

An author of over 100 technical publications, an internationally-used ergonomics textbook, and several inspiring books on STEM leadership, Dr. McCauley serves as the Director of the Ergonomics Laboratory in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida. She previously held the position of Martin Luther King, Jr. Visiting Associate Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. In addition to her academic leadership, Dr. McCauley is a seasoned entrepreneur, innovator, and expert witness. Her client history includes the Department of Defense, NASA, Fortune 500 Companies, and legal firms throughout the nation.

In January 2018, Dr. McCauley was selected to serve as Program Director for the National Science Foundation Computer Information Science and Engineering Directorate’s I-Corps Program.

As a leader in this role, Dr. McCauley will foster innovation among faculty and students, promote regional coordination and linkages, and develop national networks to promote commercialization of innovation using the exciting NSF I-Corps Model.
