Mary Wakefield, Ph.D., R.N., appointed by President Obama in 2009, is the administrator of the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) which aims to fill in the health care gaps for people who are uninsured, isolated or medically vulnerable. She has extensive experience on Capitol Hill, with the World Health Organization, and as Director of the Center for Health Policy, Research and Ethics at George Mason University. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and was elected to the Institute of Medicine. The title of her talk will be “The Affordable Care Act and The Future of U.S. Health Care.”
