Majors partnering with Rhode Island Public Health Association

Health Studies seniors: Jarolyn Fernandez, Katherine Ryan, and Shade Olowookere are partnering with the Rhode Island Public Health Association (RIPHA) to investigate important public health issues impacting the health of Rhode Islanders.

The majors are investigating topics such as drug overdose deaths focusing on opioids, hunger in Rhode Island, and gun-related suicide and violence.  They will synthesize their research and then work with RIPHA to write public health briefs. Keep posted!

As a reminder, Health Studies majors are eligible for discounted membership to RIPHA – see ripha, org
