Major works to plan 2017 AIDS Walk For Life

Pasco Cardillo, a senior Health Studies major with a specialization in Global and Environmental Health, is a member of the planning committee for the 2017 AIDS Walk For Life “Fighting HIV One Step at a Time” along with many other public health advocates from the Rhode Island community and local health organizations. Pasco has taken on the task of reaching out to all of Rhode Island’s higher education institutes, including the University of Rhode Island, to gather volunteers and encourage all to participate. Pasco was an intern with AIDS Project Rhode Island for a year and was recently offered a full-time position with the non-profit.

Pasco has taken on the task of reaching out to all of Rhode Island’s higher education institutes, including the University of Rhode Island, to gather volunteers and encourage all students, faculty, and staff to form walking teams in order to fundraise for this ongoing cause. Pasco is the liaison between the planning committee and higher education institutions, and also is participating in community outreach, marketing, fundraising to ensure the walk is a great success.
