Aidan Boving is the recipient of the 2023 Academic Excellence Award for Health Studies

Aidan is  graduating with a B.S. in Health Studies, Global and Environmental Health, and a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology. He has conducted research with URI faculty on health psychology, environmental microbiology, and epidemiology. He is a member of the URI Honors College and conducted research with Dr. Cohen examining traumatic injuries at URI. Dr. Cohen found Aidan to be a diligent and hardworking student, who persevered through many challenges in getting the data he needed to complete the research.  Aidan has volunteered with URI EMS and the West Kingston fire department. He will move to Maryland and the National Institutes of Health this summer to begin a two-year NIH fellowship in a tuberculosis drug discovery lab.
