The premiere screening of “Can We Talk? Difficult Conversations with Underrepresented People of Color: Sense of Belonging and Obstacles to STEM Fields” was held in partnership with the #InclusiveSciComm Symposium. This film, created by Professor Kendall Moore and her students, looks at various obstacles and impediments–structural, cultural, psychological, and institutional–that effectively limit the inclusion and participation of underrepresented people of color in STEM fields. Moore is professor of film production and multimedia reporting in the URI Harrington School of Communications and Media and a member of the Metcalf Institute Advisory Board. To inquire about screening this film at your organization or institution, please contact Professor Moore.
