Biography

Wendell is a second year student studying marine biology and ocean engineering as a double major. Coming from a land-locked state, Wendell’s interest in marine science originally stemmed from years of keeping various types of aquariums and observing biological and chemical processes within the aquatic environments before formally learning the concepts in the classroom. 

Wendell is fascinated by marine food webs, population dynamics and biogeochemical cycles. Additionally, he wants to explore research as a potential profession. In the lab, he has helped maintain plankton cultures by performing regular feeding and transfers while also learning new techniques he hopes to use while conducting future experiments.
