The second Northeast U.S. Shelf, Long-Term Ecological Research cruise has passed it’s midway point. Gayantonia, Anna and Eva departed from GSO Friday aboard the R/V Endeavor to help characterize planktonic food webs along the New England’s continental shelf. Skies were sunny and the bay was glassy as they steamed out from Narraganset. Thunderstorms Sunday and sizeable swell will surely bring home salt-crusted students with new-found sea legs.
