February 2026 ended with a celebration as Frankie Lopez, a third year PhD candidate in the Menden-Deuer Lab, presented her findings on the viability of select mCDR techniques in the Northwest Atlantic! Excellent work and congrats to Frankie!

Frankie, Fiona Teevan-Kamhawi and Dr. Hongjie Wang, a PhD candidate and Professor at the GSO respectively, were accompanied by Dr. Susanne Menden-Deuer who, by tapping into her bottomless source of energy as President of ASLO and along side the American Geophysical Union, brought the event to life!

Another great week of meetings and making connections for the Menden-Deuer Lab, URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography, and the greater oceanographic sciences community!
