David has a storied career in journalism, and has served as dean to Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication since 2013. He was formerly the editor-in-chief of the Seattle Times, which received four Pulitzer Prizes under his tenure. As a longtime friend to Metcalf, he has served as chair of the jury of the Grantham Prize for Excellence in Reporting on the Environment and facilitated past Seattle Times reporters’ involvement in Metcalf programming.
