Sammy Roth has spent the last decade learning how to cover this complicated and ever-changing beat, with a focus on the shift from fossil fuels to clean power. He’ll discuss what he’s learned on the front lines of the renewable energy transition, from the difficulty of finding low-conflict sites for solar and wind farms to the mistakes many reporters make when writing about climate.
Sammy Roth covers energy for the Los Angeles Times and writes the weekly Boiling Point email newsletter. He previously reported for the Desert Sun and USA Today, where he covered climate and the environment, and graduated from Columbia University with a degree in sustainable development. He grew up in Los Angeles.
