The Metcalf team has been working on a strategic plan–and following it–for the past year and now it’s time to make it public! This plan takes us through 2028 when we will celebrate 30 years of bringing scientists and journalists together to engage deeply with each other, support scientists and science communicators in their efforts to make science accessible and actionable for their communities, and bring inspiring lecturers to the URI and Rhode Island community. We’ve already accomplished a few of our actions–such as re-imagining our public lecture series to include more alumni and creating an all-new fellowship for newsrooms–but we still have a few more ideas to implement. 

2025-2028 Strategic Plan

As with all good plans, we will update our strategy as we achieve our goals and re-imagine others as we better understand the communities.
