The University of Rhode Island’s Metcalf Institute will host a Peter B. Lord Seminar on the Environment in partnership with the New England Science Writers exploring how shifting temperatures affect marine ecosystems from New England to the poles. The seminar will be held at the Cambridge Public Library on Saturday, April 27, from 10a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (lunch is included).
The seminar is free and open to journalists and the public, but registration is required.
Speakers at the seminar will discuss the implications of warming oceans for organisms from phytoplankton to commercially important fish and shellfish, as well as our livelihoods and economy. See the agenda below.
Journalists will receive story ideas, new contacts, and opportunities to network with regional scientists studying climate change.
The program is funded by a grant #1638834 from the National Science Foundation.
