Clifton Adcock covers environmental, criminal justice and other public interest issues in Oklahoma as senior reporter for The Frontier, a Tulsa-based nonprofit investigative journalism organization. Since joining The Frontier in 2017, Adcock has covered the recent proliferation of large poultry operations in eastern Oklahoma near some of the state’s most delicate watersheds, exposed the upscale planned community of Carlton Landing’s practice of dumping millions of gallons of water from its sewage lagoons into Lake Eufaula, and detailed a successful effort by the state and industries to kill a proposal that would have set limitations on dozens of chemicals — including numerous known carcinogens — in Oklahoma waters. Adcock, a native of southeastern Oklahoma and a member of the Choctaw Nation, holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
