An overview of the types of media scientists may encounter and key communication strategies to navigate each one, from interviews with written journalists to on-air interviews on TV, radio, or podcast platforms. Time spent considering how each attendee can best relay their research to public audiences, using Metcalf’s Inclusive Science Communication principles.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, participants will understand how to communicate most effectively on the most common types of media platforms and how to apply these skills to their own work. Attendees will gain access to speak at Metcalf’s monthly “Science Talk” with journalists and be enrolled as an ISC Metcalf alumni member.
