Biography

Tristan Baurick is an environment reporter with Verite News, a nonprofit news organization in New Orleans. He is also the Louisiana correspondent for Grist. Before joining Verite and Grist, he was a staff writer for The Times-Picayune and newspapers in Washington, his home state. His work has also appeared in ProPublica, The New York Times, The Guardian, and Audubon magazine. Baurick has earned the Society of Environmental Journalists’ top investigative reporting prize, first-place awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and National Association of Science Writers, and he was a finalist for the John B. Oakes Award for environmental journalism.
