Apply to UNITE 2026The Undersea Naval Innovation Teacher Education Fellowship provides paid training for aspiring teachers in naval-related STEM education and is open to pre-service teachers regardless of their area of planned teaching certification.

UNITE Fellows will:
- Learn about the submarine capital of the world through field trips and activities
- Gain hands-on experience in K-12 outreach at local schools
- Build pedagogy knowledge with veteran teachers
Program Options
The $2,500 stipend includes 4 weeks of on-campus housing and weekday meals at the University of Rhode Island and/or University of Connecticut. Housing is optional and travel stipends are available for commuters.
- Full 4-Week Program at University of Rhode Island (URI)
- Attend all four weeks at URI
- Split-Site Program
- Spend first two weeks at URI, second two weeks at University of Connecticut-Storrs
