Overview :

  • The program runs from May 27th to August 1st during the summer of 2025.
  • Fellows will work 30 hours per week while receiving a stipend of $6000.
  • On campus housing and food are provided.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

To participate in this program, fellows must:

  • Be US citizens
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete mandatory training
  • Be undergraduates in their sophomore junior and senior years

Fellows will be matched with a faculty member to work on a National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT) research project.  Successful candidates must be in good academic standing and should possess a strong interest in naval sciences and research.

Web Design Workshop

This workshop took place during the summer of 2024. We are waiting to receive confirmation of it happening again during the summer of 2025.

STEMHer is partnering with The University of Rhode Island and NavySTEM for a FREE website design workshop – no previous experience required! This event takes place in the Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering on URI’s Kingston Campus. Computers and internet will be provided.

This workshop is offered on the following dates:

  • August 19th, from 2:30PM to 4:30PM
  • August 21st, from 2:30PM to 4:30PM
  • August 23rd, from 2:30PM to 4:30PM

STEMher, in partnership with Navy STEM, is dedicated to empowering young girls by offering opportunities to explore and excel in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields through workshops, tutoring, and camps. This web design workshop is specially crafted to inspire young women in STEM by guiding them through the exciting journey of creating and designing a website from the ground up. Participants will enjoy activities such as entrepreneurship discussions, collaborative website building in teams, and a virtual gallery to proudly display their creative designs.
