Preparing Documents for NLD using LaTeX

Updated October 2026. The lab now uses the NLD LaTeX package (nld.cls) for reports, proposals and letters, and a beamer theme for talks. Get it from the LaTeX folder of the NLD brand files (URI sign-in required). For figures, follow the NLD figure preparation guide (PDF).

At the NLD, we standardize on a LaTeX package for preparing technical documents starting from reports and papers to theses and dissertations. We use an online LaTeX typesetting tool Overleaf (overleaf.com). To familiarize yourself with LaTeX and Overleaf, I recommend you watch these LaTex Tutorials on YouTube.

The 2021 basic NLD paper template remains available, but new documents should use the NLD LaTeX package above. The URI also provides LaTeX templates for their theses and dissertations.
