At the NLD, we standardize on a LaTeX package for preparing technical documents starting from reports and papers to theses and dissertations. We use an online LaTeX typesetting tool Overleaf (at https://www.overleaf.com/). To familiarize yourself with LaTeX and Overleaf, I recommend you watch these LaTex Tutorials on YouTube.

We also have a basic NLD paper LaTeX template that you can use for reports too. The URI also provides LaTeX templates for their theses and dissertations.
