SeaAhead, National Grid, and the Cambridge Innovation Center have partnered to establish the BlueGreen Innovation Challenge which supports novel approaches to interconnected challenges in Rhode Island. This systems design challenge will leverage one of the state’s key assets – its university students – to conceive and develop big ideas at the energy-food-urban community-coastal nexus.
The challenge focuses on 3 themes— Renewable Energy, Local Food-Energy Nexus and Ports, Urban E-mobility & Electrification. Finalists have an opportunity to be awarded up to $7,500 in cash prizes.
Those encouraged to apply are young adults who attend an institution of higher education in Rhode Island, or are from Rhode Island and studying at an out-of-state institution. Recent graduates (2 years or less) are also welcome to apply.
