Dr. John King, Emeritus Professor of Oceanography at The University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography, is one of the select recipients of the 2020 URI Foundation & Alumni Engagement Excellence Award.

He has been recognized with the Scholarly Excellence Award for his continued dedication to research within his field of sediment-based studies of environmental change and ocean mapping.
