Ørsted Hosts Fishinar Series to Encourage Angler Input in Offshore Wind Farm Plans

The developer that owns the Block Island Wind Farm, Ørsted, is sponsoring a virtual Fishinar Series designed to encourage angler input in the offshore wind farm planning process. Recreational anglers appreciate offshore wind farms for their artificial reef effect which creates a hotspot for gamefish such as Black Sea Bass and Tuna.

The first installment of this series features a conversation with Capt. Chris Willi (Block Island Fish Works), Rich Hittinger (Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association, RISAA vice president), Capt. BJ Silvia (Flippin-Out Charters) moderated by Capt. Dave Monti (No Fluke Fishing Charters).

The second session features a conversation with John McMurray (One More Cast Charters), Richard “Dick” Pastore (RISAA member) and Charlie Donilon (Snappa Charters) as they shared personal stories and fishing philosophies of expert anglers and charter captains with strategies and tactics for catching shark, tuna, mahi and more.
